Madam Valérie Plante,
Mayor of Montréal,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to express my heartfelt desire to donate to the City of Montreal the public-use rights to my patented invention, which addresses a growing and urgent urban issue: the sanitation challenges posed by pets in public spaces.

Before I elaborate on this donation, I kindly invite you to visit the following webpages to understand who I am and the journey I lived during my time in Canada:

I lived in Canada from February 6, 2019, to July 15, 2025, and resided in Montreal for most of that time, moving 17 times due to unstable housing. On July 15, I left the country under a CBSA removal order and returned to Greece. I have now been informed that I may be barred from re-entering Canada for life. While that is unfortunate, it does not stop me from wishing to give back to the city I once called home.

 The Problem:

I documented a serious issue on Rue Wurtele on June 18, 2025, which you can view here:

Throughout my time in Montreal, I consistently witnessed the lack of proper infrastructure for pet hygiene. Sidewalks often serve as unsanitary dog toilets — a concern for public health, cleanliness, and especially for children. According to recent estimates, there are around 900,000 dogs in Montreal. Yet there seems to be no strategic initiative to address this reality. This, in my view, is a missed opportunity.

 My Proposal:

I have invented and patented a Public Dog Toilet System, which I am offering to the City of Montreal free of charge. I am willing to transfer the rights for public use of this invention to the city and help guide its implementation.

You may review the patent files here:

 Patent File 2

 Patent File 3

I will retain the rights for indoor residential use, but the full rights to develop, install, and license public dog toilets in Montreal—and potentially beyond—can be granted to the City.

My only condition is that the project is seriously undertaken and not shelved. I would be honored to act as a remote consultant, even from abroad, to ensure its success. I’ve also created a dedicated Facebook page for this initiative:

 A Vision for Montreal:

Let’s make Montreal the first city in the world to introduce a practical, hygienic solution for pet waste in public spaces. Let's lead by example.

Madam Mayor,
Do you accept this donation of intellectual property for the benefit of the citizens of Montreal?

If yes, I am ready to sign a contract electronically.
If not, I kindly ask for a clear answer, as I will offer this proposal next to the City of Toronto, where I also have ties.

If I do not receive a response by July 31, I will consider that the City of Montreal is not interested and will proceed accordingly.

Thank you for your attention,
With my sincere respect and best wishes,

Konstantinos Panagiotakis
Inventor & Former Resident of Montreal
